Seqera Labs Scales Bioinformatics Infrastructure
Seqera Labs has raised $26 million in a Series B led by Addition to scale its bioinformatics workflow orchestration platform. The company builds the infrastructure that enables pharmaceutical companies, genomics labs, and research institutions to process and analyze biological data at scale.
The Bioinformatics Orchestration Layer
Modern bioinformatics involves running complex computational pipelines across thousands of samples and datasets. Seqera's platform, built on the widely adopted Nextflow workflow engine, orchestrates these pipelines across cloud and on-premise infrastructure. The company has achieved strong adoption in the bioinformatics community by making complex data workflows reproducible, scalable, and accessible to researchers who may not be cloud infrastructure experts.
Genomics Data Explosion
The cost of genome sequencing has dropped dramatically, creating an explosion in biological data that far outpaces the computational tools available to analyze it. Seqera sits at the critical infrastructure layer where raw sequencing data becomes actionable scientific insight. As genomics transitions from research to clinical applications, the demand for robust bioinformatics infrastructure will grow proportionally with the volume of data being generated.
